Our thanks to Arthur Haygarth for collecting the information and to Roger Heavens for providing this scorecard which was first published in Arthur Haygarth's Cricket Scores and Biographies Volume 16. Weather bad, especially the first day (Whit Monday) and ground heavy.
The Colts, composed of amateurs and professionals, went in first by agreement. W. Mycroft, G. Hay and T. Foster did not assist the county, which therefore was somewhat weak.
Source records that the Derbyshire Colts came from the following clubs: Belper (Limb), Chesterfield (Clayton, Osborne), Codnor (Bentley), Derby (Antcliff, Brooks, Dines, Docker, Higgins), Findern (Harrison), Heanor (King), Ilkeston (Swanwick, Tillson), Melbourne (Neale), Riddings (Wright), Ripley (Millington, Shelton), Somercotes (Gascoyne), Staveley (Bastow, Kenyon), Tideswell (Swan).
Source has Derbyshire Colts batting in alphabetical order which seems unlikely.
R. Docker is perhaps M.R. Docker.
